Tvm: The annual Air Command Golf Cup Tournament was held at the Trivandrum Golf Club here today. The tournament was inaugurated by Air Marshal Sumit Mukerji, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Air Command.
60 golfers from Indian Air Force, Army and members of Trivandrum Golf Club took part in the tournament that is played over 18 holes in a single day. Air Command Cup is a rolling trophy conducted by HQ SAC every year. Started in 1993, it is one of the most prestigious tournaments held at this club.
Navy Day is on 4th December and as part of the week long celebrations, the Southern Naval Command will organise the twin events of Navy Ball and Navy Queen competition on December 12, 2009. The Navy Queen is one of south India’s most colourful beauty pageants. The Navy Queen prelims will be held across five cities – Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Kochi – from which 15 contestants will qualify for the final round. German Jazz band ‘Yakou Tribe’ will be performing in Trivandrum at the Kanakakunnu Palace on November 15, 2009 at 6.30 pm. The concert is being organised by Goethe Zentrum, Trivandrum.
Tvm: The third edition of the Kerala Bird Race 2009 will be held on 15th November 2009 at three locations - Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikkode. WWF-India Kerala State Office and Warblers & Waders are jointly conducting the Bird race.
