Corporate Relations Institute to conduct training in e-Procurement

E-mail

Trivandrum: In the wake of the Government putting into effect e-Tendering for all procurement above Rs.25 lakhs with effect from early next fiscal, the Thiruvananthapuram based Corporate Relations Institute will organise a two days Educational Training on ‘e-Procurement in Kerala Government: Standards, Processes & Procedures’ on March 15-16, 2013.

Participants will be trained by experts on Vendor / Supplier management through e-tendering, managing intends and contracts, issuance of electronic Work Orders / Purchase Orders, e-Payments - managing online payments of tender documents, bid submission fees, EMD, payments to contractors, etc.

The e-Tendering of Government contracts in Kerala went live from December 7, 2011. In the first phase, the e-Tendering facility was implemented in four departments starting with the Public Works Department (PWD), followed by Education, Transport and Police. The project was started in June 2011 with the online notification of tenders. The anytime and anywhere bidding is expected to increase transparency and enhance the process.

The World Bank and ADB complaint system has been designed and developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) on a national basis and has been implemented in several States. The project is being implemented in Kerala by Department of IT, Government of Kerala through Kerala State IT Mission.

All Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under the Department of Industries in Kerala migrated to the e-procurement and online tendering platform (etenders.kerala.gov.in) of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) from August 01, 2012. The NIC e-tendering portal also follows the CVC guidelines and this would give more confidence to the CEOs of PSUs to use the system.
