Kerala Police Officer bags gold at All India Police Duty Meet IT event

Trivandrum: Dili S, a Civil Police Officer of the Kerala Police has won the Gold Medal in Computer Awareness Event at the 56th All India Police Duty Meet 2012 which concluded on February 15, 2013 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The Silver Medal was won by Kousuri V N S Raju of Andhra Pradesh Police and the Bronze by P Manikandan of Central Reserve Police Force.

Dili, who works at the Police Computer Centre in the State Crime Records Bureau of Kerala Police in Thiruvananthapuram, topped the Computer Awareness: Online Objective Test event. He is the first person from Kerala Police to win a medal in this event. He is one of the key resources involved with several online initiatives of Kerala Police like the Sabarimala virtual queue booking system - Virtual-Q, the Internal Administrative Processing System (iAPS), the ICT enabled Citizen Helpdesk and the ‘Know your FIR Status online’ system.

The 56th All India Police Duty Meet, 2012 was held at Bhopal from February 8-15, 2013. Various events like Scientific Aids to Investigation, Police Photography, Police Videography, Computer Awareness, Anti-Sabotage Check and Police Dog Competition were held as part of the Meet. The Computer Awareness test was held in three categories: Office Automation (Part I) - MS Office 2010, Office Automation (Part II) – VB, .net 2008 and Online Objective Examination.

The Madhya Pradesh Police, Government of Madhya Pradesh, and All India Police Sports Control Board, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, jointly hosted the prestigious event. The Duty Meet was conducted in accordance with rules prescribed by the Central Co-ordinating Committee, All India Police Duty Meet, New Delhi.
