Tvm: The Project Management Institute - Trivandrum, Kerala Chapter is launching the Professional Development Day (PDD) series in Trivandrum on December 18, 2010. The PDD is an opportunity for the Project Managers and Professionals to learn and discuss new ideas in their career field. The event will be inaugurated by Raj Kalady, MD of PMI India and will feature a workshop on Risk Management.

According to Rajeev Panicker, Chapter Chair, PMI Trivandrum, “The PDD is a new initiative from the Kerala Chapter of PMI to provide a forum for all Project Managers including PMI credential holders to get together and share their experiences. The PDD will be conducted as a quarterly event. Each event will cover a keynote address, technical session on the selected theme and case study workshop.”

Participants will be encouraged to showcase their viewpoints during these sessions, which can aid critical thinking and professional development. Networking and socialising with people in the same profession will be a key highlight of this event. In addition, the participants would receive Professional Development Units which is very important for maintaining and renewing their credentials.

The PMI Trivandrum, Kerala Chapter is the local chapter of PMI (the Project Management Institute) which is world's largest non-profit body of Project Management professionals. The chapter has recently started a new online Collaboration Platform to encourage networking and interaction among the members. The chapter is also kick starting its Academia Partnership Initiative. Check out the PMI Kerala website for more details about PDD.
