Rubber Board licensing system goes online

Kottayam: As part of its ongoing e-governance programme, the Rubber Board under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. Of India, has launched a Rubber Board Business Information System (RUBIS). The online system was inaugurated by Sheela Thomas IAS, Chairman of Rubber Board on December 11, 2012 at the Rubber Board headquarters at Kottayam.

RUBIS, which can be accessed at rbegp.org.in, is an online platform for filing and submitting applications for various licences, registration cum membership certificates and their renewals. The portal can be used for filing of all statutory returns also. Verifications, recommendations, filing of inspection reports, accounting of cess and tracking of interstate transport of rubber using N-forms are some of the activities that can be done online.

Users can apply for Manufacturer’s Licence, Dealer Licence, Processor Licence and Special Authorisation using the portal. Various forms Licence forms, CESS forms and Statistical forms are available for download on the RUBIS website.

The first manufacturing licence generated through the system was handed over to N Dharmaraj, Executive Director of Harrison Malayalam Ltd. at the function by the Rubber Board Chairman.

Rubber Board has initiated an ambitious programme on e-Governance named RBeGP. The objective of the programme is to electronically enable all service-delivery points. RBeGP covers Services for growers and Rubber Producer's Societies (RPS); Services for the business communities; HRD related services- such as training, labour welfare schemes, etc.; Information dissemination & grievance redressal; Setting up information & knowledge hubs on rubber; Automating and aligning the internal processes and ICT enabling of offices and RPS for empowerment. Project RUBIS is the flagship project of RBeGP programme initiated in 2010. This is an integrated total software solution.
