Kollam: Amrita University’s ingeniously developed e-learning platform A-VIEW (Amrita Virtual Interactive E-Learning World) has won the jury award for Best Innovation in Open and Distance Learning under Higher Education category at the World Education Summit - 2011 held last week at New Delhi.
Prof. Kamal Bijlani, Director, Amrita E-Learning Research Lab, Kollam received the award comprising a memento from Prof. V N Rajasekharan Pillai, Vice Chancellor, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Kris Srikanth, Chairman, Selection Committee of BCCI and Dr. Ravi Gupta, Editor-in-Chief, Digital Learning Magazine. Prof. Kamal Bijlani said “We are honoured to receive the award and delighted that A-VIEW has been recognized for its tireless work to give quality education”.
The event was organised by IGNOU in association with the Centre of Science Development and Media Studies (CSDMS) and Elets Technomedia. The World Education Awards have been instituted with the aim of felicitating and acknowledging unique and innovative initiatives in the field of education globally.
