Web Technologists converge in Kochi

Kochi: Web Technologists, IT Professionals and Students converged in Kochi today for a two-day all India seminar on Web Technologies: Emerging Trends & Social Impacts. The seminar is being jointly organised by the Institution of Engineers (India), Kochi Chapter; the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Kerala Section; the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Cochin Chapter and Computer Society of India (CSI), Cochin Chapter.

Shouvick Mukherjee, Vice President (R&D), Yahoo India inaugurated the seminar and noted tech journalist, Anand Parthasarathy, Editor, IndiaTechOnline.com, delivered the key note address on ‘Riding the Internet Wave: Harnessing today's Web Technology Opportunities’.

The two day seminar would have talks on Uncovering Security and Discovering forensics in Cloud by Manu Zakaria, Security Consultant; Web Technology Applications: Kerala Government Initiatives by Dr. M P Sukumaran Nair, Special Secretary to Chief Minister of Kerala; E-Governance and Cyber Security by N Krishnan, Director, CERT, IT Department, Government of Kerala; Cyber Forensics  by B Ramani, Additional Director, CDAC, Thiruvananthapuram and Social Networking by Mini U, Cochin University of Science & Technology.

There will also be ten paper presentations on various topics related to Web Technology at the seminar to be held at Hotel International at Kochi.
