Govt. ready for talks with Tecom: CM

E-mail

Tvm: The state government today said it is ready to talk with Tecom, the Dubai based promoters of the Rs 1,500 crore SmartCity project in Kochi, to break the deadlock over the project.

Chief Minister Shri V S Achuthanandan told this during the press briefing after the weekly Cabinet meeting. The Government has informed Tecom about the steps taken so far in this regard and that it was prepared to hold talks with the firm. He also said the date for discussions with Tecom would be later decided.

The state government has maintained that Tecom was raising demands which were not in accordance with the agreement. However, Tecom had recently said it will not wait beyond December 2010 and would be forced to rethink on the project.
