Catalyz bags best biotechnology startup award

Tvm: Catalyz Systems, a Technopark TBI incubatee was chosen as the best and innovative start up under Biotech category for the Indian Association of Business Incubators Award. Dr. Biju Jacob, CEO Catalyz Systems along with Mervin Alexander, CEO, Technopark received the award from the Union Minister for Science and Technology Mr. Prithiviraj Chauhan in Delhi on February 08, 2010.

Catalyz is a new generation health innovations company focused on in vitro diagnostics and stem cell therapeutics. They are developing proprietary diagnostics and prognostics platforms for different infectious and chronic diseases.The company has patented technologies for rapid, sensitive, specific and low cost diagnostics applications. Catalyz was incubated at Technopark TBI Extension Center in Bangalore.

Mervin Alexander, CEO, Technopark said, "It’s a proud moment for Technopark with its incubate company winning such a great recognition.  I wish all the success to Catalyz to grow to greater heights.” Last year Technopark had also won the recognition as the best Technology business incubation park.

KC Chandrasekharan Nair, CFO and Program Head Technopark-TBI said, “ This award by Catalyz has added one more feather to TBI’s cap as this is the first time a biotechnology company incubated at Technopark Trivandrum is receiving national award for innovation and entrepreneurship.”

The awards were given during the 4th International Conference on Business Incubation organised by the Indian Science and Technology Park’s (STEPS) and Business Incubator’s Association (ISBA).
