Technopark Phase III gets new 110 kV sub station

Tvm: Technopark has set up a new 110 kV substation in their Phase-III campus. The new substation was inaugurated today, September 8, 2009 by the  Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri V S Achuthanandan at 5pm at the substation premises. The total capacity of the station is 25 MVA The substation is located beside Chavadimukku – Kulathur road that divides the Phase-II and Phase-III campuses.

This station will cater to the power requirements of IT Companies in both the Phase-II and Phase-III campuses. The upcoming Infosys campus slated to commence operation from Phase-II campus will be provided power from this substation.

“With this new substation, the ongoing Phase III development of Technopark will gain added momentum. Being implemented as an IT/ITES Special Economic Zone in 92 acres of inspiring campus, the new development will make Technopark, Asia’s biggest IT hub with a total 10 million sq.ft and a 1, 00,000 strong workforce”, said Technopark CEO, Mr. Mervin Alexander.

Other infrastructure developmental works in Phase-III Campus are also progressing in full swing.  The work on the construction of 1 million sqft IT Building with green technology is expected to begin October 2009.
