Schogini launches talking Chess Board & App for visually challenged

E-mail

Tvm: Technopark, Trivandrum based mobile application developer company, Schogini Systems has launched a talking Chess Board and a talking Chess App for visually challenged. In their efforts to empower the blind, the company has also launched applications like Coloring App and Seeing Apps for Android, iOS and Windows Phone. Schogini also announced the appointment of Mohammed Salih, a blind by birth, as their ‘Brand Ambassador - Intelligent Interfaces’.

Interacting with the media, N Sree Prakash, Managing Director, Schogini Systems said, “We realised that there is an absence of computer games for the visually challenged and this prompted us to launch the speaking version of the chess game and other apps which will help them. We are probably the first IT company in Kerala to employ a blind person. By the way, the talking chess game can be played by any person.”

In his role as the brand ambassador, Salih would take intelligent gaming strategies to teens and youngsters who are reading less and spending more time in front of a computer or on mobile phones and are fast turning addicts to dumb and blood-thirsty games. The idea is to lure them back through technology by making brain-engaging strategy games for them rather than war strategy games.

Ram Kamal, Director, Chakshumathi, an empowerment and assistive technology centre for blind, said, “Schogini has taken a bold and unique initiative by employing Salih and launching such apps. This should encourage more IT companies to employ visually challenged persons and also develop applications that will empower them. There are many visually challenged persons who are highly skilled and trained in IT but they are not getting placements.”

Schogini Systems is based at the Leela Infopark in Technopark campus. The company’s expertise is in Physics, 2D, Game Centre / Multi-Player based Apps for iOS, Android and Windows Phone platforms. Schogini Systems is ISO 9001-2008 Certified for Software Development and Customer Support.
