Tvm: Flytxt, the Technopark based technology leader in mobile marketing and advertising, is hosting a Developer to Developer Big Data Workshop on ‘Harnessing Hadoop for Big Data Analytics’ on March 9, 2011. The first of its kind community organised event in Kerala, for technology enthusiasts and application developers, will be held at the Park Centre in Technopark, Trivandrum.
The workshop aims to give a peek into the interesting and real-world applications of Hadoop stack. This event is for those already developing Hadoop based applications or exploring how to adopt Hadoop Ecosystem for your business.
According to Rajesh Mathachen, VP, Flytxt, this is an exclusive event where we can gather to discuss and learn the Hadoop ecosystem. By the end of the event, all participants will have the knowledge to easily explain Hadoop ecosystem to their peers, and build Hadoop based applications. “Flytxt is probably the only company in Technopark to work extensively on the Hadoop Ecosytem”, adds Rajesh. The workshop would have an introduction to Hadoop Ecosystem and the participants would get to interact with the Big Data Analytics & Automation Team at Flytxt.

For the uninitiated, Apache Hadoop is a software framework that supports data-intensive distributed applications under a free license. It enables applications to work with thousands of nodes and petabytes of data. Hadoop was inspired by Google's MapReduce and Google File System (GFS) papers. Hadoop is a top-level Apache project being built and used by a global community of contributors, using the Java. Hadoop was created by Doug Cutting, and was originally developed to support distribution for the Nutch search engine project, according to the Wikipedia.
