PhD Scholarships at IIITM-K

Tvm: The Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management – Kerala (IIITM-K) has invited applications for admission to the PhD Programme starting in April 2010 in IT related topics in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language processing, Software Engineering, Advanced Computing areas like High Performance Computing, Grid and Cloud Computing and Distributed Computing.

Selected full-time candidates will be eligible for SPEED-IT Research Fellowship instituted by the Department of Information Technology, Government of Kerala. The scholarship will comprise a monthly fellowship of Rs 14,000 for the first year, Rs 15,000  for the second year and Rs 17,000 for the third year and an  annual contingent grant of Rs 20,000.

According to a IIITM-K spokesperson in Trivandrum, for admission to the PhD Programme, a candidate must have a Master`s degree in Engineering / Technology/ Science/ MCA/ M.Sc CS/IT in a relevant area with a minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.5 or 60 per cent of marks.

Candidates will have to register for Ph.D programme with a University in Kerala and on approval by the University, the candidate should report to IIITM-K to carry out the research work in the area in which he / she is selected for fellowship.
