Kerala Legislative Assembly Question Hour goes online

Tvm: All the questions and answers from the Question Hour in the Kerala Legislative Assembly are now available online. The question answers from June 27, 2010 are accessible on ‘’, the official website of Kerala State Legislative Assembly. The first session of the 13th Kerala Legislative Assembly started on June 24.

Speaker Shri G Karthikeyan today said that the complete script of questions asked during the Question Hour and their answers will be uploaded on the Niyamasabha website the same day. Although there is a provision for 30 starred questions every day, because of the time constrains, only few are asked. But a large number of un-starred questions are entertained and usually, the Ministers give written reply to them. Both starred and un-starred questions and their complete answers will be put on the site.

The Speaker also added that there are plans for complete live webcast of the proceedings of the house on the Niyamasabha website and this initiative of uploading question answers is a move in this direction. This is expected to augment the transparency of the house proceedings while increasing the accountability of the elected members and their performance in the Legislative Assembly.
