Dr. SMS and DIS via SMS shortlisted in m-Billionth Awards

Tvm: Two of Kerala State IT Missions’s m-Governance Projects, Dr. SMS and Dam Information System for Farmers via SMS have been short listed for the Grand Jury to be held in Colombo during June 10-13, 2010.

The projects have found place among 160 ‘Successful Quality Nominations’ received from countries like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Maldives. The m-Billionth Award launched by the Digital Empowerment Foundation is a dedicated platform to explore the latent potential of mobile sector across South Asia.

The m-Billionth Award brings together the best mobile experts in South Asia as jurors deliberate and decide on the award-winning mobile applications and entrepreneurs in the region. The nomination and jury process is transparent and fair, and has drawn support from leading corporate and government players in the region.

The m-Billionth Award South Asia 2010 is first of its kind in the region recognising and felicitating mobile innovations, applications and content services delivery. It is to honour excellence in mobile communications across South Asia spread over 9 core categories. The m-Billionth Award is designed as an annual South Asia’s leading mobile content’s award platform towards larger regional Mobile Congress in media and policy advocacy.
