Zimbabwean delegation impressed with State’s IT Initiatives

Tvm: A three member delegation from Zimbabwe visited Kerala State IT Mission (KSITM), State Data Centre, INSIGHT and Akshaya State Office last week to understand more about the e-Governance and Open Source initiatives of the organisation. The team led by Munyaradzi Rwakurumbira, Deputy Director included Zinyembe Christopher, Chief Network Technician and Matongo Justine, Network Support Technician.

The team noted that the State Data Centre is being professionally managed and were touched to see how ICT has empowered the differently abled. One of the team members also individually complimented Vinod Babu, a Master Trainer at INSIGHT, who demonstrated the use of spreadsheet for making calculations. At the Akshaya State Office, the team had interactions with the Korath V Mathew, Director, Akshaya and understood about the various services provided by Akshaya.

During their visit, Sabarish, Mission Coordinator, KSITM made a presentation on KSITM and its e-governance projects with specific reference to FOSS. The team interacted with the team of Sunish Sugathan and Akhila Gowrishankar, both Managers at KSITM to understand the various e-governance activities of the organisation. They were particularly interested in initiatives like the State Data Centre and Citizen's Call Centre.

The team was accompanied by Mahadevan Nadeson, Sr. Programme Manager, Cadre International, Malaysia and Amarnath Raja, CEO, Inapp Inc., Technopark, Trivandrum.
